Here are a few of the ways which you can help us to help the stray animals of New York City.

     Special Programs:
Mighty Mutts has a number of special programs which allow you to provide long term support at a level which is comfortable to you:
Sponsorship:
 We are a volunteer organization and rely entirely upon donations for continuing support.  The sponsorship program allows you to take a very special interest in the life of one of our animals by commiting $15-$20 per month.  Please click here if you wish for more details.
Motorcars for Mighty Mutts:
 In addition to travelling to the vet and to Union Square on a weekly basis, Mighty Mutts also has a twenty mile long "feeding route" with over 100 stops.  The purpose of this route is to keep as many animals alive as possible until we can pick them up.  Obviously, this level of activity is hard on a car!  Therefore, we have established Motorcars for Mighty Mutts, a program in which you can donate your used car to us.  We will register the motor vehicles which we need and sell any extra, using the money to fund our activities. You then recieve up to the book value of the car for use as a tax deduction!

Monetary:
 It is a sad fact of life that everything costs money.  even witht the best of intentions, we can not continue to care for and feed our animals without your financial support.  We are a volunteer organization and every dollar donated goes directly to providing food and medical care for our animals.  We are also a no-kill organization which means that dogs or cats who would normally be euthanized get to live out their lives in our care.

Services: Volunteering:  As mentioned, Mighty Mutts is a volunteer organization.  We need people to come and help us at Union Square in Manhattan every friday and saturday.  Volunteers sit with the animals and answer the questions of passers-by, educating them to our mission and helping them in choosing the right animal to adopt!

Foster Homes:  As a rule, Mighty Mutts likes to keep all of our animals under our direct care until they are adopted.  This spares the dog or cat the anxiety of being "shuffled around."  However, our facilities are limited and occasionally we do not have room for all of the animals which enter our lives.  Therefore, we are trying to establish a data base of possible foster homes, people who would agree to care for an animal for the duration until it is adopted and who are also able to make the commitment to join us at Union Square in order to help the adoption process along.
 
In Kind: We are also in constant need of all types of animal care products, from food and bedding to cages and cleaning supplies.  Also, any office supplies or other services which you can think of would be greatly appreciated!  Please contact us if you wish to make any such donation and we will arrange for pick up.
